About Trasherella
The Journey to Trasherella
Hi, I’m Musa, a 29-year-old artist and the founder of Trasherella, a sustainable fashion brand built around transformation, craftsmanship, and individuality.
At Trasherella, I turn discarded and pre-existing materials into one-of-a-kind handmade fashion pieces that blur the line between accessory and art. I’m inspired by the challenge of reimagining waste, giving forgotten materials new purpose through avant-garde design and careful handwork.
My background in visual arts shaped the way I see form, texture, and storytelling. I studied visual arts at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, later earned a BBA in International Business from SUNY New Paltz, and gained hands-on experience in textile reuse through my work with FABSCRAP in Brooklyn. There, I supported warehouse operations focused on recycling and reclaiming materials from the fashion industry, an experience that reinforced my passion for sustainability and circular design.
Each Trasherella creation is made with intention and respect for the handmade process. These are not mass-produced pieces. They are expressive, labor-intensive works that reflect time, creativity, and a commitment to doing fashion differently. I want every item to feel rare, personal, and unapologetically original.
Trasherella is for people who want more than fashion as usual. It is for those who value sustainable design, artistic expression, and pieces with real character.
PROCESS
Trash to Trend: A Sustainable Style Revolution
Trasherella begins with transformation. I take discarded and pre-existing materials and reimagine them as one-of-a-kind, avant-garde fashion pieces. Each design is an exploration of texture, form, and possibility, proving that sustainability and artistic expression can exist in the same space.
Revamp Your Style with Eco-Chic Runway
Through handcrafted design and bold styling, I create fashion that challenges traditional ideas of beauty and waste. Every piece is made to stand out, blending eco-conscious practice with runway-inspired creativity to give reclaimed materials a striking new life.
Creative Collaborations and Exhibitions
Trasherella also grows through collaboration. I love working with artists, designers, and creative communities on exhibitions, fashion presentations, and experimental projects that push sustainable fashion in new directions. These collaborations help turn individual pieces into larger conversations around art, identity, and reinvention.
